LEGAL & POLICIES
The terms that govern your use of Meetr, how we handle personal information, your privacy choices, and our approach to accessibility.
Terms of Use
Effective 29 August 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Meetr (“Meetr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the gomeetr.com website, the Meetr mobile application, and any related services, features, and content (together, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, submitting your email address, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements, that you have never been convicted of a felony or of any crime involving violence or a sexual offense, and that you are not required to register as a sex offender with any authority.
3. The Service and its current status
The Meetr application is not currently available. The website presently provides information about Meetr and lets you join a list to be notified when it relaunches. Features described on this site may change, may be delayed, or may not be released at all. Nothing on the Service is a promise that any feature or release will be made available.
4. Your account
If accounts become available, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. You may not transfer your account or let anyone else use it.
5. Meeting other people is at your own risk
Meetr is a tool for discovering and organising meetups. We are not a party to, and do not supervise, any interaction between users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people, whether online or in person.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- We do not conduct criminal background checks, sex-offender-registry screening, or identity verification on users, and we have no obligation to do so.
- We do not vouch for, endorse, or verify any user, any statement a user makes, or any event a user creates.
- Other users may misrepresent their identity, age, intentions, or circumstances.
- Meeting strangers, attending events, and travelling to locations arranged through the Service carry inherent risks, including risk of property damage, illness, bodily injury, and death.
- You assume all of those risks voluntarily and entirely.
Take sensible precautions: meet in public places, tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return, arrange your own transport, do not share financial information, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. If you believe you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.
6. Release of claims
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and forever discharge Meetr and our officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with your interactions with other users or with any meetup, event, or gathering arranged or discovered through the Service.
If you are a California resident, you expressly waive California Civil Code section 1542, which reads: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.” You waive any comparable provision of any other jurisdiction.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten, stalk, defraud, or harm anyone;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or that infringes anyone’s rights;
- Solicit money from other users, or use the Service for commercial solicitation without our written consent;
- Collect or harvest information about other users, including by scraping or automated means;
- Interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
- Upload malware, or use the Service to distribute unsolicited messages.
We may investigate and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, suspending or terminating access, and reporting conduct to law enforcement.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant that licence. We may remove content at any time.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including the Meetr name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or integrate third-party websites and services. We do not control them, are not responsible for them, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party’s terms and privacy policy.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, accurate, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected. We make no warranty regarding the conduct, identity, or suitability of any user.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Meetr nor our officers, directors, employees, agents, or affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, or to any interaction with another user, however caused and on any theory of liability.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Meetr and our officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Informal resolution first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days.
Binding arbitration and class action waiver. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Austin, Texas. You and we each waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. Claims of intellectual property infringement may be brought in court.
If this arbitration provision is found unenforceable, the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Effective” date above and, where the changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Privacy Policy
Effective 29 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Meetr (“Meetr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use gomeetr.com and, when it becomes available, the Meetr application.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. At present the website collects only the email address you submit to join the relaunch list, and anything you choose to include if you email us. When the application launches it may also collect account details such as your name, date of birth, photographs, profile information, and the events you create or join.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may record your IP address, browser type and settings, device type and operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits.
Location. The website does not request precise geolocation. A meetup application by its nature may request location access; if it does, it will ask for your permission first and you may withdraw that permission in your device settings at any time.
From third parties. If you sign in through a third-party service such as Facebook or Twitter, we may receive the profile information that service shares with us according to your settings there.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To notify you when Meetr relaunches, if you asked us to;
- To respond to your enquiries;
- To monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents, and to enforce our Terms;
- To understand how the Service is used, in aggregate;
- To comply with law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies. These fall into three broad groups:
- Strictly necessary — required to serve the site securely and remember your privacy choices. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — help us understand traffic and usage so we can improve the Service.
- Advertising — used to deliver and measure advertising, including interest-based advertising. See Ad Choices.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share it:
- With service providers who host our site, deliver email, or provide analytics, and who are permitted to use it only to provide those services to us;
- With other users, where you choose to publish profile information or event details;
- For legal reasons, where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of anyone;
- In a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient honours this Policy;
- With your consent, or at your direction.
Some sharing for advertising purposes may qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” under California law. See Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as the law requires. If you ask us to delete your information, or to remove you from the relaunch list, we will do so unless we must keep it for a legal or security reason.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to hold an account. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Everyone. You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message, or by contacting us. You can ask us what information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it.
California residents. Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; to request deletion; to request correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To exercise them, see Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information or contact us. You may use an authorised agent, and we will verify your request before acting on it.
Other US states. Residents of states including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and Oregon have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. Contact us to exercise them; you may appeal a refusal by replying to our decision.
Nevada residents. You may direct us not to sell certain personal information. We do not currently sell information as Nevada law defines it.
UK and EEA residents. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal bases are your consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
9. International transfers
We operate in the United States, and our providers may process information there and elsewhere. Those countries may not offer the same level of protection as your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers may send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to it. We do treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser that sends it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will revise the “Effective” date and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you.

Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information
Effective 29 August 2026
California law gives residents the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information and of “sharing” it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Those words are defined broadly: they can cover disclosures made for advertising or analytics purposes even when no money changes hands.
Where we stand
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If we use advertising or analytics technologies that set identifiers in your browser, that activity may be treated as sharing under California law, and the choices below apply.
How to opt out
- Send us a request. Use the button below and write “Do Not Sell Or Share” in your message. Tell us the email address you want the request applied to.
- Use a Global Privacy Control signal. We treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid opt-out for that browser. You may need to repeat it on each browser and device you use, and it will not carry over if you clear your cookies.
- Use the advertising industry opt-outs described under Ad Choices.
Authorised agents
You may use an authorised agent to submit a request. We will ask for proof that you gave the agent permission, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity.
Verification and timing
We will acknowledge your request within ten business days and respond within forty-five calendar days, extending by a further forty-five days where necessary and permitted. We will verify your identity before acting on a request to know, correct, or delete.
No discrimination
We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.
Ad Choices
Effective 29 August 2026
This notice explains how interest-based advertising works and how to control it. It applies to any advertising we or our partners deliver now or in the future. The Meetr website does not currently display third-party advertising.
What interest-based advertising is
Advertising partners may use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers, and similar technologies to collect information about your activity across websites and apps over time, and use it to show you advertising they judge more relevant. This is also called online behavioural or targeted advertising.
Your choices on the web
- Digital Advertising Alliance — optout.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative — optout.networkadvertising.org
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance — youronlinechoices.eu
- DAA of Canada — youradchoices.ca
These tools set an opt-out cookie in the browser you are using. If you clear your cookies, switch browsers, or use a different device, you will need to opt out again.
Your choices on mobile
- iOS — Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track.”
- Android — Settings › Privacy › Ads, and delete or reset your advertising ID.
- AppChoices — the DAA’s mobile app, available from the app stores.
What opting out does and does not do
Opting out stops advertising being tailored to you. It does not stop you seeing advertising, and it does not stop the collection of information for other purposes such as measurement, security, or fraud prevention. California residents should also read Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information.
Accessibility & CC
Effective 29 August 2026
We want Meetr to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, speech input, or keyboard-only navigation.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a finished state, and we do not claim the Service is free of barriers.
What we do
- Semantic HTML structure with landmarks and a logical heading order;
- Keyboard access to interactive controls, with a visible focus indicator;
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alternatives for decorative ones;
- Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA thresholds for body text and controls;
- Layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to narrow screen widths;
- Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting, which turns off parallax, autoplay motion, and scroll animation.
Captions and media
The background video on our home page is decorative, silent, and carries no information, so it has no captions and is hidden from assistive technology. Any video we publish that carries spoken or otherwise meaningful audio will include synchronised closed captions (CC), and we will provide a transcript where practical.
Known limitations
Content supplied by third parties, including embedded services and any future advertising, is not under our direct control and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us about a barrier
If you meet an accessibility barrier, or need information from this site in a different format, please tell us what happened, the page you were on, and the assistive technology and browser you were using. We will respond and, where we can, provide the information another way.
